A ceramic water purifier lined with colloidal silver was developed in Nicaragua by Potters for Peace. It was the late Ron Rivera who pioneered the development and the dissemination of this filter. This filter costs only 7 to 10 US $ and can easily provide 25 liters of safe water per day. It can be produced locally but the marketing challenges are still quite striking
