Sometimes, filters can break, as all goods made from clay will do. Two problem arise:
1) there is no supply chain in Nicaragua and people would need to go and buy a spare filter in Managua
2) it is difficult for many families to pay 70 Cordobas (3 US $) for a replacement. Notwithstanding, these poor families do sometimes have a TV and their spending habits depend on their priorities
